Post-doctoral Fellow in Computational Biology

The Wang Genomics Lab at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is looking for outstanding postdocs with backgrounds in quantitative sciences and knowledge of programming and statistical analysis.


Job Description

One Post-Doctoral Fellow positions is available in The Wang Genomics Lab at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). The appointee will develop and apply computational approaches (e.g., deep learning/machine learning) to study biomedical images and/or multi-omics data for human diseases.


Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Sciences, or a relevant discipline with solid programming skills;
  • Rich experience in either next-generation sequencing or deep-learning based imaging analytics;
  • Enthusiastic in sciences, capable of working independently and have strong analytical skills.

Salary and Benefits

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.

About Wang Genomics Lab

The Wang Genomics Lab at HKUST is applying data sciences to cancer genomics, biomedical imaging analytics and others. Dr. Jiguang Wang (the PI) is an energetic young scientist with PhD in applied mathematics. The lab is closely collaborating with hospitals, such as Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Samsung Medical Center, Columbia University Medical Center, and Spanish National Cancer Research Center. Among the most recent publications, the study of secondary GBM has been published by Cell 2018, and has been recognized as one of China’s top 10 research advances in life sciences in 2018 by The Chinese Union of Life Science Societies.
